The function of the RCC is to promote spirit of neighborhood. The council disseminates information regarding activities in the community and works closely with political leaders both at the state and local levels.
The RCC meetings most months are the third Tuesday of the month at 7 PM. Beginning January 2012 meetings will be held at Clay Elementary School at 6506 Solita Ave.

Our membership drive for 2011-12 is now underway. Individual memberships are $10, and dual family memberships are $15. This funding supports this community newsletter and our informational and social activities.
Membership fees enable us to improve our community life including producing the Rolando Street Fair, our neighborhood clean-ups, the neighborhood watch program, our website, used book sales and our interface with the relevant government entities.
We are committed to building a vital family-oriented neighborhood. Our voice is stronger and we are able to accomplish more if you join with us. What are your ideas to move Rolando forward?

See Rolando Street Fair Pictures!
Since 1997, the RCC has held the annual Rolando Street Fair. The family-friendly event, held on several blocks of Rolando Blvd., just south of El Cajon Blvd., attracts about 200 vendors of crafts and food. Top entertainers from throughout the San Diego area serenade fairgoers. It is visited by 10,000 to 15,000 people from all over the county.

Book Sale
The first Saturday of each month, RCC volunteers sell used books from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Rite Aid parking lot on the corner of Art St. and El Cajon Blvd. The book sale allows neighbors to mingle while helping raise money for RCC projects.

The Rolando NEWS
The council publishes a newsletter, the Rolando NEWS, most months of the year. The NEWS accepts local advertising and prints a calendar of local events, as well as timely information about people and events.

Monthly Meetings
The council meets on the third Tuesday of the month (except for July and August) at 7:00 p.m.at the Clay Elementary School, at 6506 Solita Ave. Everyone is invited to come at 6:30 p.m. for refreshments and a chance to get to know your neighbors.
Representatives of San Diego City Council District 7 and the San Diego Police Department usually attend the meetings. There is usually a guest presenter on a topic of interest to the community.

The Rolando Community Council was formed in September 1975. The function of the council is to promote spirit of neighborhood. The council disseminates information regarding activities in the community and works closely with political leaders both at the state and local levels.
The council was incorporated in June 2000 as a 501c.3 nonprofit corporation, which makes it eligible for tax benefits and to apply for certain grants. |
